SLS Storage Ring Optics

D0

Comment

This is the original standard optics from the SLS design handbook, providing low emittance and dispersionfree straights. According to design calculations it should perform good and provide large dynamic apertures, however when tested during early commissioning, it was not possible to store any beam. Probably the working point was bad chosen, to close to a coupling resonance, and Qy too close to integer. After finding well working solutions (D2E) at reduced Qx, D0 was never tried again.
