THE CORBA FRAMEWORK

CORBA, as with any new software technology, is not without its share of new terms and concepts. The most basic of these are recapitulated here. Their number should not, however, deter from the relative ease with which clients are able to invoke remote operations. (This is well illustrated by the code listings presented in section 3.) The basic CORBA capabilities are combined with standard CORBA services to provide the framework for the development of the CORBA server objects. These run on a single dedicated server machine providing a system that is distributed but not scattered!
