SLS storage ring optics
- ISO9B
Low-alpha optics for production of short bunches.
Used for a couple of shifts in 2009 and 2010.
- F6C
Femto optics including
chicane and modulator closed to its minimum gap.
In operation since April 2006.
- F6CWO
Femto optics including
chicane and radiator with open modulator.
In operation since April 2006. Since 2010 ocasionally also operated at 1.57 GeV.
- F6T
Femto triplet quads and QLH-05 shifted
10 cm downstream. New quadrupole calibration based on effective field length instead of iron length. Operational January-April 2006.
- F4T
Femto optics including triplet and radiator but not yet the chicane. Operational April 2004 - end 2005.
- F40
Preliminary mode similar to D2R55 and with same tunes, but with broken lattice symmetry due to modifications on quad QLH-05. Operational during the first month of 2004.
- D2R55
D2R reoptimized for chromaticities of +5, operational Feb.2003 - end 2004.
- D2R
User optics for the early years providing 5nm emittance and dispersion free straights. Operated mid 2001 - Feb.2003.
- GS2
Alternative optics based on D2R with higher vertical tune, developed by Gurnam Singh, tested July 2001 and worked quite well.
- D1
Distributed dispersion optics for 4nm emittance, was tested in Feb.2001 and worked well, but never used again.
- D2E: precedessor of D2R, early production optics, March 2001.
- D4B
Relaxed optics used for early commissioning, gave the first stored beam on Dec.15,2000.
- D0
Original design optics from the SLS handbook, never worked...
