Calculation of the Point Spread Function for the X09DA Pinholes in SLS

16-DEC-2013, 13 pages [PDF]

The diagnostic beamline X09DA is equipped with a set of x-ray pinholes for horizontal beam size measurements. In order to extract the right beam size out of the pinhole images it is necessary to carefully account all the effects that can add up to the image blurring. This is done by calculating the point spread function (PSF) of the system, which is a weighted average over the x-ray spectra of the blurring effects of diffraction, pinhole geometry, scintillator and CCD camera. In this note we describe, step-by-step, the details of this calculation.
